I’m not talking about fanfictions or AU’s based off of a video game/comic/TV series, I’m talking about a story with a world and characters that are YOURS and YOURS alone.
But of course
Trying
Yeeee
Indeed
in the works here, pretty slowly but trying to getting there XDD
It’s taking me some time, but i’ll put it out…someday.
I realize “rip-offs” don’t ultimately matter in the long run. Rick & Morty is a literal SLIGHT renaming of Back To The Future, but no one in their right mind would say that’s a huge deal. Everyone stands on the shoulders of giants and whatnot.
But I can’t deny that when something I’ve made is pointed out to be derivative, it effectively kills whatever enthusiasm I might’ve had. The thing in question might’ve come from a deeply personal place, but it’s still really demobilizing for me personally for it to be called out as a rip-off or whatever.
Hey dudes this is a FREE extension I just finished for Windows after ages and ages of reverse engineering of Painttool Sai. It provides thumbnails for the .sai file type from right within explorer so you can preview the contents of .sai files and it even works for .sai files within folders like this folder full of .sai files and with Window’s built-in preview panel
While I work on this commissioned project, I’m watching a Japanese comedy/drama. Basically it’s live-action, but TOLD like an anime, from the mannerisms to the camera techniques, and it’s…. rather funny because of how over the top it is.
It takes place in 1980. The protagonist is an aspiring manga artist who is discouraged by all the amazing creators around him (comedic portrayals of actual manga/anime giants), wanting to wow the world with something new and amazing, but MORE amazing-er than everyone else. But every time he encounters even the slightest hurdle, he falls into a dramatic depression and tries to start from scratch each time.
I relate to the protagonist and all his self-imposed obstacles.
… Like… a lot.
Like, I am legit DISTURBED by how similar the protagonist is to me. I am hesitant to ever do “LITERALLY ME” posts, BUT THIS CHARACTER IS LITERALLY ME. It is DISTURBING. I AM VERY DISTURBED. o_o;
The series is called “Aoi Honoo” or “Blue Blazes.”
